Westbrook Counselling Services

We are a team of therapists collaborating to meet the mental health needs of families living in the Cochrane area since 2009. So many businesses have come and gone in that time, but you have supported our success and we have given back to the community through our varied volunteer efforts. Building a strong community is important to us. At Westbrook Counselling Services, all are welcome: individuals, couples, families, children, teens, adults, and seniors. We are an inclusive clinic offering both in person and virtual sessions.

Appointments

Counselling sessions are 50 minutes in length. Session fees are $220 payable after each session by cash, debit, master card, visa, or e-transfer. Many of our counsellors are approved providers for Indigenous Services Canada and Employee Assistance Programs. We also direct bill most insurance companies. Please ensure that your insurance company covers your therapist’s designation.

Counselling

Most people who seek counselling are either searching for solutions to problems or wanting to make improvements within themselves or within their relationships. Anxiety, stress, depression, aggression, anger, addictions, abuse, communication, dissatisfaction with current circumstances, separation and divorce issues, parenting concerns, relationship difficulties, and destructive behaviour are just a few examples of the struggles facing people who have accessed counselling at Westbrook Counselling Services.

Your counsellor will help you define your counselling goals, track your progress, and maintain the changes you have made. We understand that you know what is best for you and your family. We will work with you to help you identify the changes that you want to make.

Assessment

Westbrook Counselling Services offers a wide range of psychological testing and assessment services for children, adolescents, and adults. Psychological consultation and assessment can often be very beneficial when seeking to better understand and support individuals who are experiencing learning, emotional, and/or behavioural problems. Psychological assessment explores an individual’s functioning across various domains, can identify relevant diagnoses, and can provide recommendations for treatment.

Westbrook Counselling Services offers detailed assessments such as ADHD, Autism, Giftedness, and psycho-educational testing that investigate an individual’s cognitive and academic strengths and weaknesses, as well as the psychological factors that interfere with learning. Children, youth, and adults are typically referred for assessments when there are concerns about their cognitive, social, or behavioural functioning.

Family Support for Children with Disabilities

Many of our therapists are approved providers through FSCD. We have experience coordinating Specialized Services and Behavioural or Developmental Aide Services. We will ensure that your therapy consultation team creates goals and strategies that reflect your priorities.
